Oct. 16th, 2026 Weekend Plans

My Weekend Plans:

Reading – Brunelleschi’s Dome by Ross King. This book came up when I asked about the best books to read before visiting Florence. That’s Florence, Italy, not Florence, SC. The engineer in me is loving it. I’m fully planning to geek out on my parents and sister when we see the Duomo in person in February. The original Huggins foursome are hopping on a plane and exploring Florence, Rome, and Pompeii. We’re ridiculously excited.  I’m trying to think of a fun hashtag to commemorate the trip. #LynnAndJenniferTakeKenAndSusieToItaly seems a bit long. I’m accepting ideas. Hit me with them!
Crocheting – I’m so close to finishing Emma’s sweater. Well, I mean, I’m kind of close. I really dislike crocheting the ribbing on the sleeves and band, but I have to finish this sleeve so I can finish the other sleeve and be done. LOL! This feels like a good project to work on while watching football.

Murdokuing? – Not a word. But I saw these logic puzzles for sale during Prime days and decided to try them. They aren’t hard, but I’m enjoying them. They’re like a cross between a Sudoku and Clue. I love all kinds of logic puzzles, word puzzles, number games, etc. This is a fun blend.

Listening – Rubicon by Tom Holland. This is on my list of books about Rome. And yes, there are more. As in five more from the library. This is how I process. I can’t just hop on a plane and land in Rome. I have about five months to get my brain filled with a lot of info so I can enjoy everything we see. Therefore…books. ALL.THE.BOOKS.

(FYI – if any of you are Clifton Strengths fans – yes, I am very high in Input and Intellection. How did you guess? LOL!)

Additional plans not shown:

Writing – I spent all day today on research and brainstorming … actual words written? Zero. But LOTS of work done. So…now I need to let it all settle and swirl. But I will work on it this weekend. I will. #pinkypromise

Laundry – Never ending. Seriously. NEVER.

Fiction Reading – What! What! What! (IYKYK) I joined the Emma M. Lion bandwagon. I tried to stretch them out, but I finished Book 8 this week. Now I’m at loose ends because nothing else feels right. I’m a mood reader, so I’m just waiting to see what jumps out and grabs me. I have not ruled out the possibility that I will return to Book 1 and start over.

What’s on your weekend agenda?
Thoughts on things to do/see in Rome/Florence?
What should I read next?
Grace and peace,
