Oct. 11th, 2018 In Too Deep is an Okra Pick!

In Too Deep

is a Fall 2018Β Okra Pick!

What’s an Okra Pick?Β

Here’s the description from the Southern Independent Booksellers Alliance (SIBA) website:

Okra PicksΒ are a bushel ofΒ fresh titles chosen each season that SIBA Indie Bookstores want to handsell.Β These books should be southern in nature but can cover any genre, not just fiction.Β

I’m thrilled that In Too Deep was chosen! I was able to attend #SIBA18 and had the chance to chat with booksellers and they were all just lovely. I adore independent bookstores and I can’t wait to see In Too Deep on store shelves!Β

You can see all the amazing Okra Picks for Fall 2018 here!Β

Grace and peace,

  1. Your book is a great read. So glad you’ve been recognized in the Okra Picks. Write on!

  2. Merle Jeanne Albert says:

I’m so excited to hear In To Deep has been recognized as an Orka pick. I’m sure it will be another “can’t put it down” Lynn H. Blackburn book.
    Keep them coming!

I live in the southeastern PA area. The nearby Christian bookstores have all closed and most of the secular ones are also closed. I’ve started to get more ebooks from Amazon for the Kindle app. However, I really prefer a real book in my hands instead of looking at a screen. I’m glad some areas still have bookstores. Congratulations on the Okra pick.

    • Lynn H. Blackburn says:

Oh, that’s so sad! I do love “real” books … and losing myself in a bookstore. But I’m so thankful we have ebook options, especially when bookstores are scarce. πŸ™ Thanks so much for stopping by!

    Dear Lynn,
We have the first book in this series in the Church Library.
Being from the South, I thought of picking okra and then frying it to a golden brown.
I volunteer in the church library and have for almost 40 years.
The “Okra Picks” list will be very helpful when choosing books.
    Congratulations!

    • Lynn H. Blackburn says:

      Thank you so much!
I have to say that okra isn’t my favorite veggie, but if I’m going to eat it, it HAS to be fried! πŸ™‚ There’s something deliciously Southern about Okra. πŸ™‚
Blessings as you continue to volunteer in your church library. I think church libraries are wonderful and I’m so glad Beneath the Surface has found a home in yours!

      • Janet Estridge says:

        Dear Lynn,
I just ordered book # 2 in this series.
Our readers enjoy our mystery books and I do too.
