My Weekend Plans: Reading - Brunelleschi's Dome b My Weekend Plans:

Reading - Brunelleschi's Dome by Ross King. This book came up when I asked about the best books to read before visiting Florence. That's Florence, Italy, not Florence, SC. The engineer in me is loving it. I'm fully planning to geek out on my parents and sister when we see the Duomo in person.

Crocheting - I'm so close to finishing Emma's sweater. Well, I mean, I'm kind of close. I really dislike crocheting the ribbing on the sleeves and band, but I have to finish this sleeve so I can finish the other sleeve and be done. LOL! This feels like a good project to work on while watching football.

Murdokuing? - Not a word. But I saw these logic puzzles for sale during Prime days and decided to try them. They aren't hard, but I'm enjoying them. They're like a cross between a Sudoku and Clue. I love all kinds of logic puzzles, word puzzles, number games, etc. This is a fun blend.

Listening - Rubicon by Tom Holland. This is on my list of books about Rome. And yes, there are more. As in five more from the library. This is how I process. I can't just hop on a plane and land in Rome. I have about five months to get my brain filled with a lot of info so I can enjoy everything we see. Therefore...books. ALL.THE.BOOKS.

(FYI - if any of you are Clifton Strengths fans - yes, I am very high in Input and Intellection. How did you guess? LOL!)

Additional plans not shown:

Writing - I spent all day today on research and brainstorming ... actual words written? Zero. But LOTS of work done. So...now I need to let it all settle and swirl. But I will work on it this weekend. I will. #pinkypromise

Laundry - Never ending. Seriously. NEVER.

Fiction Reading - What! What! What! (IYKYK) I joined the Emma M. Lion bandwagon. I tried to stretch them out, but I finished Book 8 this week. Now I'm at loose ends because nothing else feels right. I'm a mood reader, so I'm just waiting to see what jumps out and grabs me. I have not ruled out the possibility that I will return to Book 1 and start over.

What's on your weekend agenda?
Thoughts on things to do/see in Rome/Florence?
What should I read next?

Y'ALL!!! IT'S RELEASE DAY FOR THIS BEAUTY. AFT Y'ALL!!!

IT'S RELEASE DAY FOR THIS BEAUTY.

AFTER WE FALL is available everywhere!

I try not to judge a book by its cover, but in this case? OH.MY.WORD! Go for it. Judge it by the cover. Say to yourself, "This book is beautiful, so I think I'll give it a try."

And then you can fall in love with Penelope and Luke!

Fun fact: Penelope and Luke's story is the first book I ever read by Deborah Clack.
If you've been paying attention, you might wonder about that. "But wait, Lynn. This is the second book in the series, and she's written other books."

Yes. I know.

But I read Penelope and Luke's story years ago, before Deborah had signed with a publisher.

And I knew she had something special.

Deborah's books aren't light-hearted reads. They're real. They deal with hard topics. They are swoon-worthy love stories, but the happily ever after is hard won. They are also hilarious. You could very well be crying on one page and laughing on the other.

This is why when you read the reviews of Deborah's books they are all over the map! Some readers say they're funny, ,some say they're light and cozy, and some give you a list of trigger warnings and tell you they sobbed through the book.

I think this is the brilliance of Deborah's storytelling. Her books hit each reader in different ways. And every reader takes something unique with them when they close the book.

So, if you want to read something that will make you feel all the feels - the joy, the pain, and the very hard work of relationships, you need to go ahead and order After We Fall. Might as well grab Even After This while you're at it. And soon you'll want the third book in the series.

But for today, let's focus on After We Fall. Grab it. Read it. Love it.
